Key Commitment: SpamMukt is an on-device spam detection and call filtering app. We do NOT collect, upload, sell, or share your contact list, call history, or personal identifiers with any remote server or third party.
1. Information We Access & How It Is Used
To provide spam call identification and blocking features, SpamMukt requests access to specific device permissions. All processing is executed locally on your device:
Contacts (`READ_CONTACTS`): Used solely to verify whether incoming calls belong to your known contacts, ensuring legitimate calls from saved contacts are never mistakenly flagged or blocked as spam.
Phone State & Call Screening (`READ_PHONE_STATE`, `BIND_SCREENING_SERVICE`): Used to detect incoming phone calls in real-time, evaluate spam probability against locally stored rules, and allow you to block unwanted telemarketers.
Display Overlay (`SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW`): Used to display an instant floating caller alert overlay when an incoming call is detected.
2. Data Collection and Storage
SpamMukt operates under a strict privacy-first model:
No Cloud Storage of Personal Data: Your phone numbers, contacts, and blocked number preferences remain strictly on your local device storage.
No Third-Party Analytics / Tracking: We do not embed covert tracking SDKs, data brokers, or advertising trackers that harvest your personal information.
3. Children's Privacy
SpamMukt is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Since all data (such as custom blocked lists and app preferences) is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it:
You can clear all app data at any time via Android System Settings > Apps > SpamMukt > Storage > Clear Data.
Uninstalling the app will permanently remove all app data stored on your device.
5. Permission Control
You can grant or revoke permissions for SpamMukt at any time through your Android device settings (Settings > Apps > SpamMukt > Permissions).
